Operation Get Bike Back 2: Pedal Recall

Review: A joint effort by some of the best talent in the Duke3D arena. This map is a sequel to the original “Operation Get Bike Back” and seamlessly stitched together in an open World gameplay environment. The objective is clear; Recover all stolen parts of Duke’s bicycle so he can restore his ride. This map covers a vast area, using complex effects, designs & sprite architecture leading to many different areas to explore. Once you’re able to identify each author’s section the objective of finding Duke’s bike part becomes less daunting. Well placed surveillance cameras are useful for displaying the locations of these parts and keep you on task, but it will take some creative thinking to recover them. There are no shortage of enemies and while ammo is scattered generously, it can get used up quickly. So, buckle up choose your weapons wisely and your ammo sparingly. The map will take a good part of your day to finish. My first play through took 4 hrs.

• Great use of shading & texturing.
• Numerous unique special effects.
• Cool use of sloped sprite objects.
• Great use of TROR providing a modern game experience.
• Top notch design and architecture.

Cons

• Floor aligned sprites kill small Duke.
• Suspended moving cage in Bar also moves the player on the floor below.
• More ammo respawns would have been useful near the end of level.
